About the Author/Playwright: Walter Robinson, Sr.

Walter Robinson Sr., Author & Playwright

Walter Robinson, Sr. is a Bay Area–based author and marketing professional whose work explores confidence, communication, and the human side of connection. With a long-established career in marketing for an international construction union and a background in writing stage plays, he blends real-world observation with storytelling to examine how people approach, engage, and build meaningful relationships.

Walter has been writing for more than twenty years. In addition to his stage work, he built a strong body of writing behind the scenes as a ghostwriter, helping others shape their stories and sharpen their message. That depth of experience ultimately led him to step forward with his own voice and publish under his name.

At age 50, he released his debut book, Black Girl Ugly: The Art of Approach and Engagement, a practical self-help guide for men who struggle to make first contact with women and want a more confident, intentional way to connect. The book pairs honest personal reflection with actionable exercises designed to strengthen self-awareness, improve communication, and help readers approach and engage with clarity rather than hesitation. Walter’s writing is direct, vulnerable, and focused on real-life application—because lasting connection starts with the courage to begin.

Walter is also the playwright of four stage works:  The Mirror, Follow the Noise, Interview With the Crossmaker, and The Thoughts Behind the Cross. When he’s not writing, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his children.
